As part of its vision and strategy for 2011, the Liberian Ministers Association led a team of pastors and other professionals including nurses and dental specialists to Liberia in the month of November to host a Healing and Reconciliation Conference entitled, Liberia 2011. The team spent a week in Kakata and a week in Monrovia. Amongst the many acccomplishments were the successful hosting of seminars and revival meetings, hosting mobile clinics, entering into bilateral relationships with cities and government officials, purchasing 3 1/2 acres of land to build a library in Kakata, purchasing a moto bike for the Police Department of Kakata, etc. Click here to view full report

The Liberian Ministers Association is expected to conduct its elections within the next three months. According to sources close to the leadership, the organization's constitution calls for elecctions every two years. It may be recalled that Dr. Howard took over the leadership of LMA as Executive Director in November of 2007 and was reelected in October of 2009. His tenure according to the organization's constitution came to an end in November of 2011. However, in a special called meeting, the Board of Directors appealed to Dr. Howard to continue serving as Executive Director until elections are held. Dr. Howard is still expected to play a significant leadership role in the organization after he steps down from the top job..

LMA to conduct elections for new leadership within the coming months
The Liberian Ministers Association, in an effort to help improve the well-being of citizens of Kakata, Liberia, recently met with the City Mayor of Minneapolis, R.T. Rybak to explore the possibility of establishing a sister relationship between the City of Minneapolis and Kakata, Liberia. During this meeting, members of the Liberian Ministers Association asked the Mayor to, among other things, join in the fight to have the DED for Liberians extended.
